Out of the Ordinary: On Poetry and the World is a three-day conference on poetry and poetics to be held over 5th to 7th December 2022, at the University of Canberra. The conference investigates poetry's relationship to the everyday and to the extraordinary.
Keynote events will include a panel on poetry in the light of ordinary language philosophy, a “collideorscape,” with mini-lectures and readings, of Finnegans Wake in the centre of the National Capital, and a keynote series of readings by major contemporary poets.
Attendees are asked to submit proof of travel offsetting, as one plank (alongside low-emission venues, vegetarian-only catering, paperless conference materials and recycling) to support the conference’s status as a Climate Active Certified Carbon Neutral Event.
